I have to say, Carter had a fun 10th birthday. The morning of his birthday, Erik made him breakfast.... a favorite of his, pancakes. He brought cookies to school for his class and during the morning announcements, he heard his name with a birthday wish from dad, mom, Connor and Carly (thanks to Mrs. Russ for arranging that...great idea). I think he was bit surprised and I could only imagine the look on his face when he heard it. He told me though, they forgot to add Cooper's name! For dinner, just the five of us went to Peter Piper Pizza....his choice of restaurant. (I believe he picks that place for the sole purpose to play the games cause he doesn't even eat the pizza there.) There he opened his gifts from us.

But now for the real party! Friday night we celebrated his birthday at Pump It Up with several friends from school and his cousins. He had a great turn out and was so proud to have his friends there to celebrate with him. For the cake, he chose Sponge Bob but that was a last minute change of mind. All along he was wanting the Statue of Liberty (so patriotic...last year he had a flag cake). So, when we went to the store to order the cake, the gal told us she could do that if we had a picture, but then when he saw Sponge Bob....that was it. That is what he wanted. So Sponge Bob it was.

This was Carter's first birthday party with friends and we were happy to see how much it meant to him that they were there for him! I say this every year but it's more and more true...we are so proud of him and am thankful for the progress he makes each year!

We love you Carter!

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. Psalm 139:13-16
